Blanchard, KathleenKathleen O. Blanchard is president of Key Compliance Services, LLC, and she has more than thirty years of experience in banking. She is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and a BOL Guru for Bankers Online. Kathleen’s banking background includes commercial and private lending, credit review, credit policy and procedures, risk management and regulatory compliance at community, regional and large international banks. She has been providing training and consulting services on regulatory compliance processes, HMDA and CRA reporting, process development, and training since 2006. She presents her views and offers advice on HMDA, CRA and other regulatory matters at Since 2015, she has been delivering online regulatory compliance training, including The HMDA Academy, a unique combination of online consulting and training for financial institutions and vendors.
Claydon, JonathanJonathan H. Claydon is a shareholder with the law firm of Greenberg Traurig, where he focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution in both federal and state courts. He represents clients in a wide array of cases, focusing primarily on bank litigation, business litigation, class action defense, and employment litigation. Jonathan received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.
Ferak, PaulPaul J. Ferak is a shareholder with the law firm of Greenberg Traurig, where he manages a national team of attorneys assisting financial institutions and other clients in financial services litigation, business litigation, and class action defense. Among other complex business disputes, Paul has defended financial institutions in class actions involving mobile banking, electronic payments, credit cards, mortgages, and overdraft practices. He also regularly defends clients against allegations of violations of various statutes affecting the financial services industry, including credit cards, banking, and mortgage laws, privacy laws, and state consumer fraud laws, as well as allegations of breach of contract and lender liability.

Sell, ThomasThomas G. Sell has served over ten years as senior compliance examiner for the FDIC’s Chicago territory as examiner-in-charge, acting review examiner, and acting fair lending specialist. His experience includes serving as AVP of compliance at Washington Mutual Bank in Downers Grove, in charge of compliance for the bank’s mortgage lending, senior auditor at HSBC Bank in Deerfield, reviewing consumer lending compliance, and senior compliance examiner and applications analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business, Southern Illinois University, and the ABA Graduate School of Compliance Risk Management.
Settanni, Carolyn SorockCarolyn Sorock Settanni serves as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for the Illinois Bankers Association. She joined the IBA’s Law Department in 2011, where she has researched thousands of bank compliance questions, in addition to assisting with internal legal matters and the IBA’s legislative efforts. Carolyn began her career at a small law firm focused on organizational, transactional, and real estate matters for small- and medium-sized businesses and not-for-profit corporations. She received her law degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2010, where she was the Executive Articles Editor of the law review. Carolyn received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
Snyder, ElizabethElizabeth Snyder is Senior Vice President and Senior Manager, Compliance Program, Governance and Examination Management, for First Citizens Bank. A Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and nationally-recognized speaker, Elizabeth provides regulatory compliance and enterprise-wide risk management guidance for financial institutions. Before joining First Citizens Bank, she led Plante Moran’s regulatory compliance team, served as Senior Vice President of compliance and risk management for the Illinois Bankers Association, Executive Vice President of risk and compliance management for Leaders Bank, Vice President of operations at Founders Bank, and retail banking manager at Oak Brook Bank.
Steck, SheilaSheila Steck is the community bank consumer compliance officer for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Her responsibilities include assisting examiners and community bankers nationwide. She is responsible for all consumer protection regulations and reports to Compliance Supervision in Washington, D.C. Previously, Sheila was the compliance lead expert for the Central District. Since joining the OCC in 2001, she has been extensively involved in examiner training and course development for all compliance-related areas. Before joining the OCC, she served as a compliance and CRA officer for a multi-charter bank holding company in Minnesota, and she obtained her Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager certification in 2000.
Ward, PaulPaul G. Ward is Manager in Bank and Thrift Supervision at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for the Chicago metropolitan area. He joined the IDFPR in 2016, following a career in banking spanning over thirty years. Paul began his banking career with Boatmen’s First National Bank in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1986, he was appointed president and CEO of Boatmen’s Livestock National Bank, a $65 million commercial bank, and he also has served as a senior credit/risk officer at the former Cole Taylor Bank in Rosemont, Illinois. Paul received his undergraduate degree in finance from Northwest Missouri State University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Woodruff, JohnJohn Woodruff is a supervision manager at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago who oversees a portfolio of banks in Illinois for adherence to consumer compliance regulations and Community Reinvestment Act requirements. He previously served in the same role in the state of Indiana. John has been with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for eight years, following a thirty-two-year career with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater with a BBA majoring in finance and economics.
