The cost for classified ads in the Illinois Banker magazine is $50 for the first 30 words, plus 50 cents for each additional word. Blind box ads are $15 extra. All ads appear in the monthly Illinois Banker magazine. Deadline for ads is the 5th day of the month prior to the issue. (Magazines are typically mailed during the first week of the month of issue.) As a bonus, all ads will also appear on the IBA website for two months.

Senior Vice President, Controller

Chief Executive Officer
Wanted to direct new majority women-owned community bank in Chicago. A new community-based bank expected to open in downtown Chicago in late 2008 seeks a chief executive officer (CEO) with significant lending experience who will provide leadership and initiative in implementing overall strategy of financial institution. The bank will provide a wide array of services throughout the Chicago metropolitan area, including: traditional banking services, personal and corporate trusts, residential mortgages, insurance brokerage and retail securities brokerage. The bank is expected to start with a capitalization level of at least $15 million, with anticipated organic growth of $50 to $70 million within three years. The bank will be historic as the first majority
women-owned bank in Illinois. The CEO will be expected to contribute to new business generation efforts, marketing, community outreach, establishing a highly-controlled and compliant bank, and ensuring superior customer service. Additional responsibilities include: counseling senior management on fiscal control and profitability; preparing an annual budget to the board of directors, monitoring performance against the budget; directing all bank staff; developing bank policies and procedures and ensuring compliance. The CEO will assist in building the management team and liaison with the board. The ideal candidate is a visible leader in the banking industry with strong business lending experience. She or he should have access to a significant client base and be well established in the community. Requirements include: at least twenty years of banking experience, particularly in the small and mid-sized lending capacity; strong leadership skills; experience with credit and risk policies, lending and liability. Must be experienced working with customers and leading teams. Should possess demonstrable understanding of the development and pricing of asset and liability products. Excellent communication skills and a strong community presence are important. MBA preferred not required.
